Simple Sugar Glaze Recipe

  • 2 cups confectioner’s (icing) sugar 500 mL
  • 1 to 3 tbsp hot water 15 to 45 mL
  • 1 tsp light (white or golden) corn syrup 5 mL
  1. In a bowl, whisk together sugar, 1 tbsp (15 mL) hot water and corn syrup until smooth. Stir in more hot water if needed, 1 tsp (5 mL) at a time, to make a smooth glaze that is just thick enough to cling to donuts.
  2. Dip donuts into glaze as soon as it is mixed or it will harden.
