Sardines with Ginger Recipe

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 4 fresh sardines
  • 3 tablespoons sake
  • 2 spring onions, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine)
  • 2 teaspoons chopped ginger
  1. Heat oil in a skillet over high heat. Add sardines; cook, flipping occasionally, until golden, about 3 minutes per side. Transfer to a serving plate.
  2. Mix sake, spring onions, soy sauce, mirin, and chopped ginger together in a small bowl to make sauce. Pour over sardines.
