Creamy Chicken Soup Recipe

  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups fat free milk
  • 2 cups finely chopped, cooked chicken meat
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  1. In a 3-quart saucepan, heat oil. Whisk in flour and form a paste. Gradually stir in LACTAID(R) Fat Free Milk and continue stirring until thickened.
  2. Add chicken to white sauce mixture. Add sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder and basil. Mix well and simmer for 20 minutes over low heat.
