Zesty Turkey Romaine Salad Recipe

  • 1/3 cup Safeway SELECT Slivered Almonds
  • 1/3 cup Safeway SELECT Verdi Olive Oil
  • 3 tablespoons Safeway SELECT Verdi White Wine Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 large head romaine lettuce, washed and crisped
  • 3 cups cubed cooked turkey or chicken
  • 1/2 cup canned sliced water chestnuts, drained
  • 3 tablespoons Safeway SELECT Verdi Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 cup croutons, purchased or homemade
  • Salt and pepper
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread almonds in a shallow baking pan. Bake almonds until golden, about 8 minutes; set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together oil, vinegar, dry mustard, Worcestershire, and hot sauce to taste; set aside.
  3. Tear lettuce into bite-size pieces. In a large bowl, combine lettuce, turkey, water chestnuts, cheese, and croutons. Add dressing and mix to coat. Sprinkle with toasted almonds and serve immediately. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
