- 1/3 cup Safeway SELECT Slivered Almonds
- 1/3 cup Safeway SELECT Verdi Olive Oil
- 3 tablespoons Safeway SELECT Verdi White Wine Vinegar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1 large head romaine lettuce, washed and crisped
- 3 cups cubed cooked turkey or chicken
- 1/2 cup canned sliced water chestnuts, drained
- 3 tablespoons Safeway SELECT Verdi Shredded Parmesan Cheese
- 1 cup croutons, purchased or homemade
- Salt and pepper
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread almonds in a shallow baking pan. Bake almonds until golden, about 8 minutes; set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together oil, vinegar, dry mustard, Worcestershire, and hot sauce to taste; set aside.
- Tear lettuce into bite-size pieces. In a large bowl, combine lettuce, turkey, water chestnuts, cheese, and croutons. Add dressing and mix to coat. Sprinkle with toasted almonds and serve immediately. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
