- 1/3 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1/3 cup nonfat dry milk powder
- 1/4 cup toasted wheat germ
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 6 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup egg substitute
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- confectioners' sugar
- In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate and butter; cool slightly. Stir in the egg substitute, walnuts and vanilla. Stir into the dry ingredients.
- Pour into an 8-in. square baking dish coated with nonstick cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Dust with confectioners' sugar if desired. Cut into bars.
