Turkey and Chicken Sausage Chili Recipe

  • 2 tablespoons O Organics™ Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1 (12 ounce) package chicken sausage, cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 1 medium O Organics Yellow Onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 3 tablespoons O Organics Garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic, and oregano
  • 1 (15 ounce) can O Organics Black Beans, undrained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can O Organics Red Kidney Beans, undrained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can O Organics Pinto Beans, undrained
  • 1 cup O Organics Chicken Broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup O Organics Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • O Organics Green Onions, chopped (optional)
  • Fat-free sour cream (optional)
  1. Heat oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Add turkey and sausage; cook 6 minutes or until browned, stirring to crumble turkey. Remove from pan and keep warm.
  2. Add onion, cumin, and crushed red pepper to pan; cook 5 minutes over medium heat or until onion is translucent. Add garlic; cook 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
  3. Return turkey and sausage to pan. Add soy sauce and next 6 ingredients. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes. Ladle chili into bowls, and sprinkle evenly with cheese. Serve with green onions and sour cream, if desired.
