The Elizabeth Recipe
- 4 gooseberries
- 2 tsp white sugar
- 50ml/2fl oz gin
- 25ml/1fl oz elderflower cordial
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- traditional cloudy lemonade, to top up
- gooseberries and fresh elderflowers, to garnish
- In a Boston or whisky glass, mash (muddle) the gooseberries with the sugar using the end of a clean rolling pin.
- Add the gin, elderflower cordial and lime juice. Shake well, then strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top up with lemonade and garnish with some fresh gooseberries and elderflowers.
