Thai beef patties Recipe

  • 175g/6oz rump steak, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove
  • ¼ tsp dried chilli flakes
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
  • ½ free-range egg, lightly beaten
  • sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 100g/3½ oz green beans, trimmed and thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp plain flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • fresh coriander to garnish
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds, to garnish
  1. Place the steak, garlic, chilli, sesame oil, coriander and egg into a food processor. Blend to combine the ingredients.Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  2. Transfer into a bowl and stir through the green beans. Lightly flour your hands and form the meat mixture into four patties.
  3. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan over a medium-high heat. Place the beef patties into the frying pan and fry for about three minutes on each side, until golden and cooked through.
  4. To serve, place the patties on a bed of fresh coriander leaves and sprinkle over the toasted sesame seeds.
