Steamed Creole Shrimp Recipe

  • For shrimp:
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon Creole seasoning
  • 6 ounces large shrimp (with shells)
  • For sauce:
  • 1 tablespoon light butter, melted
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/4 tablespoon Creole seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 pinch Salt and pepper to taste
  1. Add water, lemon juice, and Creole seasoning to a saucepan over high heat. Bring to rapid boil, then add the shrimp, and cover. Cook approximately 1 minute, stir, and cook another 1 to 2 minutes until shrimp are cooked through. Pour the shrimp into a strainer to cool slightly.
  2. Mix all remaining ingredients in a small bowl.
  3. Peel and devein the shrimp when cool enough to handle. In a bowl, toss shrimp with butter mixture. Serve immediately.
