Smoked Gouda Beer Fondue Recipe

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 cup Amstel Light
  • 1/2 pound Gouda, grated
  • 1/2 pound smoked Gouda, grated
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water, or as needed
  • Cayenne pepper to taste
  1. Crush garlic clove in large saucepan.
  2. Add Amstel Light and slowly warm to simmer.
  3. Gradually add cheese and stir continuously.
  4. Smooth batter with lemon juice and mustard powder; add water if needed for texture.
  5. Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water in small bowl. Gradually add cornstarch slurry to cheese mixture until desired thickness.
  6. Add cayenne to taste.
