Skillet Apples Recipe

  • 2 strips Archer Farms™ bacon, any variety, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 8 medium Braeburn or Granny Smith apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  1. Cook bacon in large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon and reserve 1 tablespoon of drippings.
  2. Meanwhile, peel, core and slice apples into rings.
  3. Add butter to same skillet, reduce heat to medium-low. Stir in reserved bacon drippings and apples. Cook, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes or until apples are crisp tender.
  4. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cook, stirring gently, 5 to 8 minutes longer, or until apples are tender and a syrupy glaze has formed.
