Seasoned Soy Sauce (Yangnyum Ganjang) Recipe

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 scallion, trimmed and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (see Tip)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder, preferably Korean (see Ingredient note)
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper (optional)
  1. Whisk garlic, scallion, soy sauce, oil, sesame seeds, chili powder and pepper, if using, in a small bowl.
