Scary Monster Cake Recipe

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 pkg. (4 serving size) JELL-O® Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding and Pie Filling
  • 1 (16 ounce) container ready-to-spread white frosting
  • 1 (4.5 ounce) tube black decorating gel
  • 6 Oreo® Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, crushed
  • 4 Jet-Puffed® miniature marshmallows, cut in half
  • Green food coloring
  • Medium paper baking cups
  1. Make cake batter according to package directions. Add dry pudding mix and mix well. Spoon evenly into 24 paper-lined, muffin cups
  2. Bake according to package directions for cupcakes. Remove to wire rack; cool completely.
  3. Put frosting in medium bowl, add 6 drops of food coloring and stir until well blended.
  4. Arrange cupcakes on platter or tray to resemble a monsters head and spread with frosting.
  5. Use decorating gel for eyes, mouth, scars and hairline on the cupcakes. Fill in the hair with cookie crumbs. Arrange marshmallow halves for teeth. Store in refrigerator.
