- 1 (9 ounce) pouch Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ fire roasted tomato cooking sauce
- 24 frozen cooked meatballs
- 4 hoagie buns, split
- 1 cup shredded pizza cheese blend or mozzarella cheese
- Garnishes, if desired:
- Green or red bell pepper, cut into thin strips (optional)
- Thinly sliced sweet onion (optional)
- Set oven control to broil on low. In 2-quart saucepan, mix cooking sauce and meatballs over medium heat. Cover and cook 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until hot.
- Place open buns on large cookie sheet. Fill each with 6 meatballs; spoon 2 to 3 tablespoons sauce over meatballs. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup cheese. Place under broiler 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese is melted. Top with bell pepper and onion.
