- 2 (3 3/4-oz) cans brisling sardines packed in olive oil, drained
 - 1/4 cup mayonnaise
 - 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
 - 2 teaspoons drained bottled capers, chopped
 - 1 teaspoon finely grated fresh lemon zest
 - 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
 - 1/8 teaspoon salt
 
- Mash together all ingredients in a bowl with a fork until combined well.
