San Francisco Pitas Recipe

  • 2 cups salad greens or arugula
  • 1 1/2 cups SARGENTO® Chefstyle Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 plum tomatoes, diced
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1 cup sprouts (sunflower, pea shoots, adzuki beans or lentil sprouts)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or parsley
  • 1/2 cup salted, roasted soy nuts (optional)
  • 1/3 cup light ranch or Thousand Island dressing
  • 4 (6 inch) whole wheat pitas
  1. Combine salad greens, cheese, tomatoes, avocado, sprouts, basil and soy nuts, if desired, in large bowl. Add dressing; toss well.
  2. Cut pitas in half; open into pockets and fill with mixture.
