- 4 cups thinly sliced cucumbers
- 1/2 cup thinly sliced onions
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/3 cup fresh dill
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 1 clove garlic
- In a glass bowl, layer cucumbers and onions. In a 2-cup (250-mL) measure, combine sugar, vinegar, dill, bay leaves, mustard seeds, peppercorns, and garlic. Pour over cucumbers.
- Cover and refrigerate for 3 days, stirring once each day. Store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Drain before serving.
