Red, White and Blue BBQ Pork Chops Recipe

  • 6 center-cut pork chops (about 1-1/2 inch thick, bone in or boneless)
  • 2 tablespoons Morton® Hot Salt™
  • Honey Barbecue Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup dark beer
  • 2 teaspoons Morton® Hot Salt™
  • 1 cup gourmet style barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  1. Season the pork chops with Morton(R) Hot Salt(TM), pressing the spices into the meat.
  2. In a saucepot combine the beer, Morton(R) Hot Salt(TM), barbecue sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, thyme and garlic. Bring mixture slowly to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high.
  4. Grill pork chops for 8 to 10 minutes per side until just cooked through, about 150 degrees F. Baste with Honey Barbecue Sauce during the last quarter of grilling time.
  5. Remove from grill and serve with extra Honey Barbecue Sauce and grilled vegetables.
