Pear And Almond Crisp Recipe

  • 4 medium pears – peeled, cored and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup rolled oats (not quick-cooking)
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons whole grain pastry flour
  • 2 tablespoons cold butter
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Combine the pears, maple syrup, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and nutmeg in an 11 inch X 7 inch baking dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the oats, almonds, brown sugar, flour, butter, and oil and mix with your fingers to form crumbs. Sprinkle the topping over the pear mixture.
  4. Bake for 40 minutes, or until the pears are tender and bubbly and the topping is lightly browned.
