- 8 small turnips, trimmed and quartered, but not peeled
 - Salt
 - 2 tablespoons butter
 - 1 teaspoon sugar
 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
 
- In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the turnips until tender, drain.
 - Melt the butter in a large heavy skillet. Add the turnips and sugar and cook, tossing, until coated with the butter.
 - Add the parsley, toss to coat, and serve.
