Molasses Creams Recipe
- 1 1/2 cups butter or margarine, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup light molasses
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- FROSTING:
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon milk
- In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and molasses and mix thoroughly. Blend in dry ingredients. Roll into walnut-sized balls. Place on ungreased baking sheets (do not flatten). Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until done (centers will be slightly soft).
- In a small mixing bowl, beat frosting ingredients until creamy. Frost cookies while warm.
