Maple Turkey Brining Recipe

  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup kosher or coarse salt
  • 1/2 cup Safeway SELECT Maple Syrup
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
  • Juniper berries
  • Cloves
  1. Mix water, kosher or coarse salt, Safeway SELECT Maple Syrup, firmly packed brown sugar, minced or pressed garlic cloves, and a sprinkling of juniper berries and cloves.
  2. Place meat in a plastic food bag (choose small cuts like pork chops, chicken breasts, or turkey breast slices), pour in brine to cover, then seal and chill 6 to 12 hours.
  3. Discard used brine; cook meat as desired.
