- 1 1/2 ounces (1 jigger) bourbon or other whiskey
 - 1 tablespoon sweet vermouth
 - a dash of Angostura bitters
 - 1 lemon twist for garnish
 - Ice cubes
 
- In a small cocktail pitcher combine the bourbon, the vermouth, the bitters, and 1 cup ice cubes, stir the mixture well, and strain it into an Old-fashioned glass. Garnish with the lemon twist.
