Lentil and Country Ham Soup Recipe

  • 2 smoked ham hocks
  • 1 pound lentils, picked over and rinsed
  • 1/2 pound mushrooms, chopped
  • 3 onions, chopped coarse
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 cups chopped carrot
  • 2 cups chopped celery
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon Savory Market™ DeLuxe Beef Base
  • 1 serving Savory Market™ Country Ham Flavor
  • 3 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 10 cups water
  1. In a 6- to 8-quart kettle combine all ingredients and simmer soup, covered partially, stirring occasionally, 1 1/2 hours. Remove meat from hocks or bone. Chop meat and stir into soup.
