- 5 scallions, finely chopped
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons sesame seeds, toasted
- 3 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 pound beef tenderloin, trimmed and sliced into 1/4 inch thick medallions
- Grind scallions, garlic, and sesame seeds in a small food processor or with a mortar and pestle. Stir in soy sauce, sugar, water, sesame oil, and vinegar.
- Pour into shallow dish. Add beef; turn slices to coat. Cover and chill 45 minutes.
- Preheat grill to high for direct heat.
- Remove beef from marinade (discard marinade). Grill 2 to 3 minutes, turning once.
