Jeffs Turkey Brine Recipe

  • 1 quart vegetable broth
  • 1 quart water
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1/2 cup ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup dried rosemary
  • 10 pounds ice cubes, or as needed
  1. Stir vegetable broth, water, salt, pepper, sugar, garlic powder, thyme, and rosemary together in a saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil. Cook, stirring regularly, until the salt and sugar are dissolved, about 5 minutes. Cool completely.
  2. Mix brine and ice together in a large container.
