Japanese Stir-Fry with Beef Recipe

Japanese Stir-Fry with Beef Recipe

  • 8 ounces top round beef
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen Japanese-style vegetables
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Safeway SELECT Teriyaki Sauce
  • Cooked steamed rice
  1. Slice beef into thin strips. Cook frozen vegetables according to package directions, but cut cooking time by a third. Drain and set aside, covered.
  2. Heat large skillet or wok with oil and add ginger, red pepper, and onion. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add beef strips and cook for 3 minutes more. Add reserved vegetables and water chestnuts and stir-fry for an additional minute.
  3. Add oyster and teriyaki sauces and cook until hot and bubbly, about 1 minute, stirring to coat. Serve over steamed rice.
