Jalapeno Chile Coleslaw Recipe

  • 3/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 1/2 (8 ounce) packages broccoli coleslaw
  • 1/3 head Napa cabbage, cut into 1/4-inch strips
  • 4 jalapeno chiles, halved, seeded, and cut crosswise into 1/8-inch strips
  • 1/2 cup Safeway Ranch or O Organics™ Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  1. Warm a small frying pan on medium heat. Add cumin seeds and toast, swirling occasionally, until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Pour onto plate; let cool.
  2. In a large bowl, combine broccoli slaw, cabbage, and chiles. In a small bowl, combine dressing and cayenne.
  3. Toss dressing with slaw mixture. Put in serving dish; sprinkle with cumin seeds. Let stand for about 5 minutes for flavors to blend.
