Italian Smoked Sausage Sandwich Recipe

  • 1 (14 ounce) package Hillshire Farm® Smoked Sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced yellow onion
  • 1 cup thinly sliced red bell pepper
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 4 hoagie buns
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  1. Preheat oven at 425 degrees F.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the sausage, onions and peppers in the tomato sauce for 8-10 minutes, stirring often. Spoon the mixture into buns and place on a baking sheet, top with shredded cheese. Bake for 3-5 minutes, just until the cheese has melted.
