- 25g/1oz butter
- 2 slices ready-made madeira cake
- handful strawberries
- 2 tbsp caster sugar
- 100g/3½oz cocoa powder
- 4 tbsp golden syrup
- 3 tbsp hot water
- 2 scoops ready-made vanilla ice cream, to serve
- Heat the butter in a frying pan, place the cake slices into the pan and cook for a minute on each side. Remove from the pan and set aside in a warm place.
- In the same pan, cook the strawberries with the sugar for one minute.
- For the chocolate sauce, place the cocoa powder, golden syrup and hot water into a saucepan and cook over a low heat for 3-4 minutes.
- To serve, place the cake slices onto a plate along with the strawberries and ice cream and drizzle with the chocolate sauce.
