Hearty Bean Casserole Recipe

  • 1 1/4 pounds ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 large green pepper, diced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 (16 ounce) can pork and beans, undrained
  • 1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
  1. In a Dutch oven, brown ground beef; drain. Add onion, green pepper and garlic; cook until tender. Stir in all of the beans. Combine ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, mustard, salt and pepper; add to bean mixture and mix well. Pour into a greased 2-1/2-qt. casserole. Top with bacon. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes or until heated through.
