Hawaij/All-Purpose Seasoning Recipe

  • 3 tablespoons coarsely ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon ground sumac
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt (optional)
  1. Whisk pepper, cumin, turmeric, cardamom, sumac, and salt together in a bowl. Store in a container with a lid in a dark place for up to 6 months.
