Ham N Hominy Salad Recipe

  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (15 ounce) can yellow hominy, drained
  • 1 cup cubed fully cooked ham
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1/2 cup diced green pepper
  1. In a skillet, saute onion in butter until tender. Stir in flour until blended. Remove from the heat. Gradually whisk in the water, vinegar and sugar. Return to the heat. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from the heat; stir in the remaining ingredients. Serve warm or cold.
