Gruyere Toasts with Sliced Ripe Pear Recipe

  • 32 (1/4 inch thick) slices Archer Farms™ artisan baguette
  • 8 ounces Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon stone ground mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 ripe pears, halved and cored
  1. Set oven control to broil. Place baguette slices on baking sheet. Broil until toasted on one side. Set aside; let cool.
  2. Mix cheese, mayonnaise, mustard and pepper. Spread untoasted side of each baguette slice with a scant tablespoon of cheese mixture. Place on baking sheet.
  3. Broil with tops 2 to 3 inches from heat 2 to 3 minutes or until puffed, golden and bubbly.
  4. Slice each pear half into 8 thin slices. Top each baguette slice with pear slice, trimming to fit, if needed. Serve while still warm.
