- ½ large potato, very finely sliced
- 1 garlic clove, very finely sliced
- 200ml/7fl oz double cream
- 50ml/2fl oz milk
- 55g/2oz Gruyère cheese, grated
- Preheat the oven to 220C/425F/Gas 7.
- Place the potato, garlic, cream and milk into a saucepan and heat gently for five minutes.
- Pour into a gratin dish and sprinkle over the Gruyère. Place into the oven and bake for 12 minutes, remove from the oven, then let it sit for five to ten minutes before serving.
