Fiesta Shrimp Creole Recipe

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 small green pepper, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (16 ounce) jar chunky salsa
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (optional)
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 pounds cleaned shrimp or chicken
  • 4 cups hot cooked Minute® White Rice
  1. Mix oil and flour in large saucepan. Cook on medium heat 6 to 8 minutes or until browned, stirring constantly.
  2. Add green pepper, celery and garlic; cook and stir 4 minutes or until tender. Stir in salsa, tomato sauce and hot pepper sauce, if desired; simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in shrimp; cook an additional 6 to 8 minutes or until shrimp are cooked through. Serve over rice.
