Ditalini with Turkey Sausage Recipe

  • 1 pound ditalini pasta
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 pound sweet turkey sausage, cut across into ¼-inch-thick slices
  • One 15-ounce can tomato sauce
  • One 6-ounce can tomato paste
  • 1 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh basil
  • ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  1. Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes. Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, broth, and oregano and bring to a simmer. Partially cover the pan and simmer until the sausage is cooked through, about 5 minutes. Add the pasta and stir to combine.
  3. Remove from the heat and stir in the basil. Sprinkle with the Parmesan just before serving.
