Cinnamon French toast with honey, cream and orange Recipe

  • 1 free-range egg
  • 150ml/5fl oz milk
  • 1 tbsp caster sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 slices white bread
  • 25g/1oz butter
  • 1 orange, peeled and sliced
  • icing sugar, for dusting
  • 2 tbsp clear honey
  • 3 tbsp double cream
  1. Whisk the egg, milk, sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl until well combined, then soak the bread slices in the mixture.
  2. Melt the butter in a frying pan, add the bread slices and fry for 1-2 minutes on both sides, or until golden-brown all over.
  3. To serve, arrange the orange slices on a serving plate, place the toast on top and dust with icing sugar. Drizzle over the honey and cream.
