Chocolate Streusel Bars Recipe

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 cup cold butter or margarine
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine flour, sugar and cocoa; cut in butter until crumbly. Add egg; mix until well blended. Reserve 1 1/2 cups crumb mixture. Press remainder evenly on bottom of greased 13×9-inch baking pan. Bake 10 minutes.
  2. In heavy saucepan, over low heat, combine EAGLE BRAND(R) and 1 cup chocolate chips; cook and stir until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. Spread evenly over prepared crust.
  3. To reserved crumb mixture, add nuts and remaining 1 cup chocolate chips; sprinkle evenly over top. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until center is set. Do not overbake. Cool. Cut into bars. Store leftovers covered at room temperature.
