- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 3 cups fat-free chicken broth
- 2 cups water
- 1 (14 ounce) can whole tomatoes
- 1 chopped cooked chicken breast
- 1/2 pound green beans
- 1/4 small head cabbage, cored and shredded
- 3/4 cup shell pasta
- 1 teaspoon crumbled dried sage
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the onion and poultry seasoning and cook for 5 minutes. Add the broth, water, and tomatoes (with juice) and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the chicken, green beans, cabbage, pasta, sage, pepper, and salt. Simmer, covered, for 8 minutes, or until the vegetables and pasta are tender.
