- 1 1/3 cups sugar
- ¾ cup corn syrup
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons water
- 3 or 4 tablespoons heavy cream
- Butterscotch Sauce I:
- Mix all ingredients except the cream, and bring to a boil in a heavy saucepan. Boil 1 minute. Cool and stir in the cream until smooth and satiny.
- Butterscotch Sauce II:
- Substitute dark brown sugar for the white.
